By the time they get here and grow a bit it will be about that time. I want to order them early this year.

A good site to order from is McMurray Hatchery. Click on that link and it will take you to the Sultans page. I'm thinking of ordering those and breeding them with Cochins and Light Brahmas to make a bird that can really handle the Minnesota winters well.

Audacity is a tool you can use to record audio on your computer.

So I am used it to put play-by-play action on my son's basketball game that I recorded.

I'm not the greatest basketball game announcer but the Audacity tool worked GREAT!

The Weather Channel and their desktop application is probably my favorite weather site online. I can see the temp in my area any time jus looking at my desktop (lower right hand corner). That's one of the best things.

AccuWeather.com - Type in your zip code and the weather in your area is there. They also have some videos and maps.

Arbor Day Foundation is another good tree site but they charge $10 for admission but they will send you 10 "free" trees, which aren't really free if you pay a $10 admission LOL, but what the heck, you get 10 trees.

Ok I found something kinda funny today.

There's a site where people actually write in complaints about their boss or whomever to get it off their chest.

It's called B****ingNetwork.com.

SHADOW: I laugh my ass off when I see a cop in a NO Parking Zone and hes Parked there Runs into Starbucks and grabs coffee and runs back out before the what ??? THE COPS GRAB HIM??? 2 sets of laws in our society folks

ESPN is driving me nuts.... well it always does so I don't try to watch it much but if I'm needing a sports fix.... What else are you going to do?

ESPN has pretty much a monopoly on sports and they are so east-coast-biased it makes me sick. What also bothers me about them is that they blow up stories that shouldn't be and they just drive them into the ground.

Take the latest Tiger Woods incident.... Tiger crashed his car into a tree in front of his house. ESPN is making it into this big deal where EVERY 5 MINUTES they are talking about it. On Mike and Mike in the Morning, they were actually talking about wether or not they should talk about it.... FOR AN HOUR! Well, I listened for less than 5 minutes, turned it off, and then about an hour later switched back and they were still talking about it, then I shut it off again.

LOL

It's either that or it's NY teams this, NY teams that. I don't like NY teams! So I try to stay away from ESPN.

I'll watch NBA TV when I can or Fox Sports North. FSN though doesn't have the same coverage. They have a lot of fishing shows etc.

So I started thinking, where can you get sports online that isn't the Eastcoast SPorts Network?

I'm having fun this morning exploring different places on Google Maps.

The first time I checked out Google Maps I got directions. But it was just a street map. Then I did some more exploring into it and found out that if you click the "Satellite" tab in the upper right hand corner, you get a satellite view. In most places it even lets you zoom in so far you can see the top of your house or car, close enough you can accurately describe someones place with color and size etc.

They make it pretty easy to find your place or someplace you are looking for. All you have to do is type in an address. It takes you right there.

So, I used my imagination and typed in "Vatican City." I was curious to see what it looked like there. I didn't really notice much. There were a LOT of cars.

Next I typed in "White House." It's very green, lot's of trees.

Then I went to the Dallas Cowboys new stadium. That view must have been a couple years old because it was just being built. They just started playing there this year but the stadium only looks half built in the satellite view.

Well, then I went to WhitePages.com and started typing in the name of a friend I grew up with to get his address. Then I went back to the map and found his place.

Wow, it's amazing what you can do online.

It sure does make getting directions to a place a LOT easier.

LOL

You can see the road with your own eyes and take the trip that way before you actually physically take the trip.

It has to be TURKEY! None of this ham BS!

You must wake up to the smell of the meal cooking.

The parade must be on in the morning.

It has to be the jellied cranberry sauce that makes that sound when it comes out.

The meal MUST be served at Noon (give or take a half an hour).

The COWBOYS game MUST be on the TV!

My wife really wanted to see Twilight 2 last night. It was at the local theater (in a town of about 770 people) at midnight.

My thinking was, if they are showing it at midnight they are probably expecting a few people so I tried calling a couple of times just to see if it was going to be sold out.

Nobody answered the phone. They just had their automated message up.

I stayed up until midnight, drove all the way to the theater and got there at 11:45. We get to the door and she says, "We can put you on the waiting list. There are 11 seats left and 17 people on the waiting list."

What the #$%^@$%^@$#^#%&#@#$&%#$%*$....

I was nice, but I felt like screaming ANSWER YOUR *&%^%*&%*&^&*$^%^#$&^%^&*^*(%^$ PHONE!!!!

How does a vampire movie sell out on a Thursday night at midnight, in a town of 770 people, in NORTHERN MINNESOTA, made up mostly of Christians?

It kind of annoyed me even more when I looked in and it looked like mostly teenagers. It's a SCHOOL NIGHT!!!! HOW DO THEY MAKE THE MIDNIGHT MOVIE ON A SCHOOL NIGHT?

I thought the first movie was ok, maybe a 7/10. I didn't even know it was popular enough to open up at midnight. Then to sell out? I guess I don't watch enough E-Network. LOL

So I decided to look for a movie theater review site. I couldn't find one.

I did find movie review sites though.

Rotten Tomatoes is s decent site to review movies yourself. You write your own review and you can read the reviews of others.

It's ok but the format is confusing. It's hard to find things but it's the best movie review site I've come across.

I think there needs to be a movie theater review site though.

So as I'm writing this I decide to look one more time. I FOUND ONE!

Box Office Mojo let's you review movie theaters. The only thing about this site is that there aren't that many reviews yet. Even the Mall of America theater only has 3 ratings and it still doesn't have any reviews. So while you can express yourself, you can't really read much about a new theater before you go there.

There's ANOTHER re-make of one of my favorites.

They remade The Dukes of Hazzard and TOTALLY SCREWED IT UP! IT WAS HORRIBLE. They hacked a classic.

They remade Scooby Doo and TOTALLY SCREWED IT UP! IT WAS HORRIBLE. They made Scrappy a bad guy. What the crap was that? HORRIBLE!!!! They hacked another classic.

They remade Battlestar Galactice and TOTALLY SCREWED IT UP!!!! IT WAS HORRIBLE. They changed all of the characters! If they wanted a totally different show, they should have just changed the names of the show and characters!

Now, they are re-making one of my favorite movies of all time into a new series: V!

I'm excited and scared all at the same time.

Are they going to hack another classic?

It looks like all of the episodes will be on Hulu.

The Pilot Episode is there right now.

I work Tuesday nights when it's on so I hope they have all of them.

They don't have the same characters, which I'm ok with, as long as they don't change the old characters. You know, don't make Mike Donovan into Lisa Donovan and don't make Diana into Bob.

The aliens in the new V didn't have the same voice change like they are SUPPOSED to have, which I HATE!!!! They are SUPPOSED to sound funky! Why change that? It doesn't make sense. It's only going to piss off guys like me who LOVED the original!

I'm not ready to crush the whole thing yet though. I did like the newer looking ship and the big video screen on it. That was cool.

I did like some of the newer characters and I liked the actors/actresses. They were good.

So today I was checking out this new site called aNobii.

Yeah, I don't know why they don't capitalize the "a" but they do capitalize the "N" eh.

I absolutely LOVE it!!!!

You enter the books you have on your bookshelf at home. The book then comes up on your bookshelf on the site. You can write your notes/review of the book.

You can talk to others who have read the same book.

You can look at the review of others on books.

You can look for similar books.

You have the option on the site just to show off and discuss what books you've read or you can put your books up for sale or for a swap.

That's AWESOME! I think I may go up to the library and get some old books they are giving away. Then put them on here for a swap for something I really want. LOL

Big thanks to Kortney for suggesting Retailmenot.com. That site helps you find deals on a BUNCH of stuff to buy on sale and offers printable coupons.

The grocery coupons part of the site is my favorite.

And after I seen printable grocery coupons on that site, it got me thinking about looking for other printable grocery coupons.

Well, I thought I'd see if you can learn Karate online, through some websites with videos and such.

You wouldn't believe how much crap one has to sort though.

There are a ton of sites but I was looking for something free.

Some free sites I came across either didn't have videos OR the videos didn't work.

I did find How to tie a Karate belt.

Well, it was a start.

I gave up on that one. It's the first time that happened. There was just too much junk to sort through.

So ok, what to explore....

I Googled "philosophy" and clicked on the first site. It was a site called "Philosophy" that was selling perfume and make-up.

Get into the winter/Christmas mood with this Create a Snowflake site.

On this site you create a snowflake on your screen but cutting on a paper on this site. Then on a picture on this site the snowflakes people created are falling in a snowshower. It's really cool. You also put a message with your snowflake. When you are done, you can print your snowflake off or search for others' and print theirs off.

Well, it will be easier than you think. TURKEY is from the Americas.

Meat you might use:

Turkey - Traditional and Thanksgiving should NEVER be allowed to happen without turkey.

Buffalo - If your local grocery store has it.... Wouldn't it be cool? You might be able to order it online as well, I'm not sure. I'm not saying as a substitute for the turkey but as another option on the side. Maybe you could mix small chunks with some wild rice.... Wouldn't it be cool to say we had buffalo for Thanksgiving? (Unless you're a vegetarian.)

Deer - Don't substitute for the turkey but a side dish would be nice.

A Wild Rice dish is nice on the side.

We always like to have frybread as a side dish.

Cranberry sauce always goes with Thanksgiving. I prefer the jelly kind in the can but cranberries are traditionally a Native food.

The potato is also a food from the Americas.

I think you also should have corn on Thanksgiving.

We don't really do much soup on Thanksgiving but sunflowers are a Native food and sunflower seed soup might peek the interest of any guests you have over.

Places to play online?

Pokerstars.com - Right now there are 206,615 players playing at 9:45am. That's crazy! In the morning, as it is right now, there are a LOT of players from Europe. I play at pokerstars. One can play for play money or real money.

If you have Facebook you could try Facebook Poker. I'm more of a serious player. My experience on Facebook poker (1 time) was not good. Everyone on the table I was at did NOT know how to play. Everyone would bet with absolutely nothing hands. I didn't like it at all.

I feel pretty much the same way about Yahoo Poker. It's a bunch of people betting with nothing hoping to get lucky. Against 1 player, you can take all their chips because they are playing so poorly. Against a bunch of players doing that, one of them will get lucky against you.

I'd go with the Poker Stars play money site if I were just starting.

If you do play real money or know somebody that does, you should check out Official Poker Rankings. There, they show you how you or your friends finished in tournaments.

So I was just messing around on the Internet and found something interesting.

I found a site called Human Metrics.

On that site they have a Personality Test (click "do it").
